A Review of the Nasvhille Recording Session
Johnny Reed Foley has been working hard the last few months on getting to Nashville to make a record. But, this isn't some run of the mill demo. This is an album with all of today's best musicians and producers and should be the launchpad to jump start his career to a whole new level.
It's been no secret that everything was in place for Johnny to go to Nashville. After winning NACMAI 2014 Vocalist & Entertainer of the Year, Johnny felt now was the time to make the album. But, it has taken a little longer then expected. The project started in December and is just now wrapping up. But, the finished product, which should be available everywhere by August 1st is well worth the wait. If you have been following his social media accounts, you have already heard some clips of whats to come.
Johnny made it into the studio in Nashville, TN last week. Being there was an experience that is hard to put into words. But, it's one worth the attempt. I'll begin with the world class band that was assembled took each song and carefully examined each note until they all found what they could contribute to them. Making each beat fit each word and slowly bringing life to the music that Johnny has written to share with country music fans!
The studio itself was like a piece off of Disney's Country Bear Jamboree. A very warm room that was big open and boasted the names of country music legends. Seeing Johnny in the same studio as greats like Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and Keith Whitley. All with Multi-Platinum albums coming from the same room, was enough to make everyone smile with enthusiasm.
Johnny told us that this project is so important to him because he wanted to give his fans exactly what they deserve. A solid album with all of the songs they have loved to hear him perform the last few years. "It may have been a long wait but, I promise it's going to be well worth it", he said.
The band raved about the songwriting skills that Foley exemplified. It's apparent when you hear these songs played back that the musicians genuinely loved working on the project. Sean Impera noted that "this group of guys just had a great vibe all day and you could see they cared about the project". If the musicians compliments are any indication, Johnny has as good of a shot as any!
